Adobe Photoshop Tutorials

Welcome to my tutorial pages. In this section of my web site I hope to be able to explain to you how to use the most useful and versatile image editing program around. Photoshop is such a vast program that it would be impossible for me to explain everything so I will try to concentrate on the most important and useful features. This will very much be a work in progress so new tutorials will be added day by day so if you don't find what you are looking for now, please check back in a few days. Alternatively send me an e-mail (address below) and put in a request for the next topic for me to tackle. I welcome feedback. If you are a flickr user there is a group you can join where you will find further tips and advice on digital editing called "A-Z of Digital Editing".

For Photoshop elements users I appreciate the layout is a little different but many of the tools work the same. Hopefully you will still be able to learn a lot from this. At some stage I hope to be able to integrate Elements into this tutorial properly but until than please bear with me and do contact me should you have any specific questions or problems.

I have used some screen videos to show how I do some of the things in Photoshop. I used a program called SnagIt by Techsmith to create the videos and the still screen shots in the step by step tutorials.

The image below is the desktop for Photoshop. It is also the contents index for my tutorials. Pass your mouse over the image to find links to the tutorials discussing the features in this image alternatively use the links below the image. For a full index click here.

If you feel you would like more information and cannot wait for it to be updated here you might like to take a look at my recommended further reading list. Here you will find a selection of the books on Photoshop that I have personally found to be very useful. There is also a link to amazon where you can purchase them directly.
